Both SCCoLPA and LSI offer scholarships to persons desiring a career in the legal field. There are three different levels for the scholarships awarded. Plan A is restricted to graduating high school seniors who are residents of California, who have completed secretarial , business, and/or law-related courses in high school, and will be enrolled in the fall semester immediately following the school year in a college or business school course of study in the legal field. Plan B is for college students who will have completed at least one year of college by June of the school year and who are enrolled in the fall semester immediately following the school year in a college or business school course of study in the legal field. Plan C is called the Career Change Student, and is geared toward those individuals who are residents of California who wish to pursue an education in the legal field. SCCoLPA offers its scholarships, in an amount to be determined by the Executive Board, in the memory of SCCoLPA Life Member and Past President Marilyn Ott. Each of SCCoLPA’s scholarship winners are then entered into the contest for LSI’s $1,500 scholarships, which are presented in the memory of Eula Mae Jett.
